R-Sport 300 AWD

Post by Harry Brown » Wed Oct 10, 2018 5:55 pm

Collected today, upgraded from my old 240. Twenty eight trouble free miles so far!

Others on here have posted pictures with the same grey/black theme and I remember shortly after buying my previous black beauty that I wished I had gone for the former in the first place. Oh well, got there eventually. I'll limit the pictures to two as my photography ability is clearly abysmal (see shadow of the Incredible Hulk at the bottom of the first pic).

Very early observations:

The 300 Ingenium has a deeper, throatier tone to it than my 240. Whilst it naturally can't compete with the V6 it definitely sounds sexier than the old Ford unit, making the latter slightly whiny in comparison.

The extra power is tangible. I know that there are differing schools of thought on whether brand new cars require running-in these days but I shall err on the side of caution. Until then, feathering the throttle on the drive back from the dealers this morning gave a clear indication of what lies beneath and I'm dying to give it some welly. Soon (but within legal limits of course, Officer).

Lovely colour. I think grey is the best colour to show off the lines of the car. I have an 240 R sport. Same colour and with the black pack. I have the standard wheels though. Beautiful car mate.

Nice to see another "2nd XE " owner.
Ammonite (I still prefer the old Jag colours) and black pack are a really nice combo.

My parents picked up their new XF sportbrake 20d R sport today and I decided to go with them as I was off work. The sales manager was very enthusiastic when I mentioned I had a Ingenium 25t XE and suggested I should take their new 300 sport XE out for a test drive. Apparently the petrol Ingeniums are still rare and dealers are keen to stock them!
I took it for a spin and was impressed with the extra umph and the fruiter exhaust note compared to my current car. The increased torque was noticeable low down.
I stupidly said give me some figures for a R Sport rather than the 300 to see what it would cost to swop over. Hopefully it'll be silly even with the 0% finance and I'll just have to make do with my 250ps! 😂

You picked the correct colour spec, congrats ;)

I just wish mine was a petrol 300.

Coming from a Bluefire XE I was uncertain about going to a grey car (Lunar grey F-Type) - grey's not a real colour after all!

Wouldn't go back now - yours looks very nice.

Enjoy the power when you access it :)
