New Vinyl Trim

Post by pauljobr » Tue Jul 24, 2018 10:40 am

I have always wanted to add a bit of styling to my car and was never sure exactly how to do it in a pleasing style. I then saw what Arden had done with a mild touch over on an XE and decided that was for me. Taking the plunge I purchased some vinyl wrap and had a go myself.

It's not perfect but as a first effort I am really pleased with it, I know it won't be to every ones taste but then what is these days.

Just need to find somewhere nice to get some more arty pictures.

Nice touch - eye catching with just a touch of colour - reminds me of the subtle coach stripes of olden days :D

I like it. Not over the top but eye-catching. Nice job. Definitely need more pics!

Looks good Sid! Did you wrap them yourself or get them done professionally? Looks like a great job!

dd_lewis I did them myself, I had one practice run on an object that had some concave curves on it to get used to stretching the vinyl and then started on the car, doing the front strakes first, the side sills, I have a contoured line on the rear and then the grill.
It just takes time and patience and a bit more patience. If you ever see the car you will see some errors, but as I say my first attempt and If I want to be a perfectionist I can take it off and redo it.

robertW that was the sort of thing I was going for :)

Bazzamf, personally I don't think wrapping the mirrors would look good, not for me anyway.

Mind you a massive big growler on the bonnet and leapers on the side of the car now that's a different story ;)

Especially if I use the Scotchlite black reflective tape then during the day there is nothing seen but at night they reflect the light and show themselves,

Some new photos in a nice woodland setting, more suited to a big cat :)
