Standing on the runway, waiting for take-off!

Post by Gojira » Thu Mar 28, 2019 2:25 pm

Here at last

SWMBO is extremely impressed, so I'm probably safe for a while :D

The blank on the numberplate is my initials.

I'm tempted to post a list of all the options, but there are really rather a lot of them

Now it is time to go out and play...

Well, I've not had the beastie past 45mph yet, but SWMBO has suggested a pub tea in a country pub tonight, so I should be able to beat that comfortably later...

And will I get shot if I say I quite liked the Stop/Start in a mile and a half of crawling traffic, coming back from feeding it? :o

Oh and I was impressed with how well it stoped when a doddering old git pulled out in front of me on a roundabout.

The juice consumption is worse round town than the Insignia was, but everything else about it is much better - surprise surprise!

Well, the trip to the pub was entertaining, in the best way!

The pub we went to was a couple of junctions down the M5 from here, and SWMBO must have said 3 or 4 times - "this is a lot smoother and quieter at 70 than the last one!"

But the real fun bit was the southbound entry sliproad at junction 2.

Muppet alongside in a baby SUV trying to drift into my lane, and someone behind so I couldn't drop back out of the way...

Firm right boot (NOT all the way to the floor), it dropped down a gear and took off like someone had stuck a pin in it's backside!

And I -think- there might be a problem with the mirrors, as the SUV seemed to get very small, very quickly

Comment to SWMBO "This car's got a lot of pickup!"

and that was in comfort mode.

I'm going to have to watch the speedo -much- more carefully until I'm properly used to it! :o

Three more days driving planned, and then I've got to go to work, to show the cynics who were convinced it would never happen.

Although one of the Z4 drivers in the office did pop out to Stratstones just after they opened yesterday morning, and gave them a couple of Wookie masks to leave in it for when it was collected - the folks didn't leave the masks in the car, in case I was upset, but they did pass them over once the handover was done, and much amusement was had by all.
