New P8 still for sale.

Knowing how some of you like to drool, I was at my dealer's yesterday and lo and behold a brand new P8 in the showroom!
I thought they had all been sold but apparently not.
I was also told that if you ask SVO nicely they will still make a new one now for the right money so "limited to 300" might not be quite true.
It has the full competition pack so no rear seats.
I thought it was British Racing green but it's actually a bit lighter than the old XE version and the colour is shown as SVO special palette (scary cost probably).
It was parked nose onto the window so couldn't get a decent distance shot and I'm not really keep on the gold markings especially the gold grille surround.

I'm not sure I'd want the gold markings, but it looks a lot better than some loud motors.

The lack of rear seats -is- a dealbreaker though

Alngside the fact that SWMBO would strangle me if I sold the house to pay for it

As far as I can recall, the "Track Pack" version had the rollcage and no rear seats plus a few more bits.
You could also order a "normal" version with rear seats.
Plus they recently announced a limited run of 15 "touring" (I think that's the name) versions without the huge rear spoiler.
Either way, 6 figures for a car isn't going to happen with me (subject to a mammoth lottery win of course)
:D

Six figures is OK but not for an XE no matter what it does. I would be in the Bentley lobby for six figures. The day I went to pick up my XE they had a fabulous used Bentley in the showroom. I asked could I change my mind but sadly the Bently had arrived the night before on a trade in (2 YO) and was immediately sold by the Bristol dealership the that same day. It was awaiting specialist pick up to take it there. The last time I looked at buying a Bentley was in 1970, a 1948 version. On sale with one of my grandfather's rogue mates for £250. It was sold to a BMC dealership and they sold it on without doing anything to it for £850. My grandad saw it again on sale for £1200. That was my biggest regret not buying it there and then. When I told my dad I was thinking of buying a Bentley, he said" You're not having any bloody Bentleys up this path"  He had some cracking comments that I remember. One was going to see him after he had come out of intensive care after a very major op. I was rigged out in the period of John Travolta. He took one look at me and said " What the bloody hell are you wearing? You look like a South American gigolo" I knew then he was getting better.
Sorry off topic.

Was at Paul Ricard supporting Bottas in his quest for the championship. Went in my mates Bentley Continental Muilliner 13 reg, bought private sale for £65k with very few miles on. In the very, very frequent refuel stops took the opportunity whilst sitting outside eating to chat to a Dutch P8 owner en route to the GP and then on to his Menton holiday home ( tough at the top)......the P8 is very nice but not close to the league of the Bentley. That sort of new P8 money buys one hell of a swift Continental ! My 200 ps now seems pretty ordinary.

That's like comparing apples to oranges!
It's a totally different car.
I wonder if the Bentley could match it's lap record at the Nurburgring??

"then on to his Menton holiday home"
Ah Menton!! I stayed there for a fortnight some years back. Very nice but expensive.A can of coke 2.5 euros. Just across the border in Italy 25c for the same thing. If anyone remembers "The Day of The Jackal" Edward Fox passes from Italy to France just outside Menton. I still have a great affection with Italy as everyone seemed so friendly unlike the poe faces in Menton. I can recommend Dolce Aqua as a place to visit in Italy if anyone is down that way.

You're going to have to collect a lot of kidneys!

There was one in that colour awaiting delivery the day I picked mine up, but subtle, no stickers. Lovely thing.
