Took the leap and had the car detailed!

Post by SPARTAN117 » Sun Dec 08, 2019 3:26 pm

Finally took the leap as I wanted to get the car cleaned before winter,

Had a winter prep, with clay bar and ceramic coating.. very pleased so far and may even have the paint correction when it comes time to reapply the ceramic coat,

Winter Prep was £70 including paint decontamination and CarPro Cquartz Lite Ceramic Coating (should last around 9 months) was an extra £50

What is an average price for a good detail? As don't have a huge amount of experience on this,

Cheers,

Didn't they do any machine polishing before applying the ceramic? :? Seems a bit odd to not get the paint perfect before sealing it in.

On daily-driver new cars I usually pay ~£5-600 for a full wash, decontamination, single stage machine polish, ceramic coating with IR cured top coat (3 years), wheel coating (6 months) and exhaust polish/coating (12 months). (My Firenze Red MY20 XE is currently in his studio for a couple of days for him to do this).

Lesser used cars usually get a machine polish and sealant every 6-12 months which comes in at around £1-200 (depending on if he uses the photos for promotional material)
