JLR Topix info/parts website official

Post by millz » Sat May 20, 2017 9:05 pm

Not sure if this has been covered before but JLR has a Official website called TOPIX.

basically its the website the dealers etc use for repairs but it has a independent bit where anyone can sign up.

it shows you part numbers and other information about your cars

It is quite a well-known thing to those that have been on here a while but always good to remind newer members.
Thanks for highlighting it again.

But what does it mean? The Stream seems to have a whole host of documents in it that are to do with repairs and updates but you can't access them without a paid subscription. Are these all the fixes they did pre-delivery? Seems like a lot of things were not working and needed repair, is that normal?

The activity stream is just a list of memos, SSM's and other stuff generic across the Jaguar range (not just the XE) for the info of service depts.
Special Service Messages (SSM) are fixes that can be applied relating to a particular issue that has been encountered.
A kind of "how to" for the techies to fix particular issues IF they happen.
Once you have entered the last 8 digits of your vin it's the "Outstanding Campaigns" section above the activity stream that relates to your particular car.

As mentioned, your VIN will show just the things that are current on your car. There is a seperate service section in "Online Service History"
https://osh.jaguar.com/login?brand=jaguar This will show your service history "without any updates" but with any extras recommended by Jaguar eg brake fluid change etc. If your Topix with VIN is not showing anything specific for your car then it will most likely be fully up to date. Some items may never manifest on your car so will not get actioned as a just in case. I think the vast majority of niggles on early cars have been fixed or corrected in manufacture. The dealer can tell you accurately if there are any important issues that need sorting.
