Clicking foot brake pedal

Post by barroas » Sat Mar 10, 2018 4:54 pm

I have a Jaguar XE 2016, it runs great and is a lovely car, but when the car is stationary and each time I apply footbrake there is a loud click.
Sounds a bit like a solenoid on/off click. Does anyone know what that might be?

Thanks.

There is a complex switch beneath the brake pedal. Some others on here have had clicking as well. If it's worrying you then do a search, if it's worrying you a lot then you'll have to take it to a dealer.

In my experience its the trasmition lock. Stopping you shifting fron neutral and park to a drive gear when stationary. Normal operation and nothing to worry about.
