340HP 3.0 vs 380HP 3.0

I saw that one model of the 2018 XE offered 380HP from a 3.0 litre supercharged engine. The 3.0 litre supercharged engine in my 2017 XE delivers only 340HP. Does anyone know if this is the same basic engine with different software/firmware? If so, might this software/firmware be available from Jaguar? Some tuning boxes claim an improvement of about this level but I don't want to operate the engine with third party devices.

It's the same engine but I believe the extra bhp comes from software and a pulley swap.
The 380 also has a bigger exhaust sytem too.
There have been members from the US in the past who have used aftermarket upgrades to around 400hp.
I doubt if a Jaguar dealer would do it though I might be wrong.

I have the 380HP in my F Type. Well, it was 380HP but now it is 450HP because I added the VAP pulley and tune. Unfortunately there was an issue with the supercharger belt which shredded after about 20km when I had the tune done (unusual, so dont let that put you off) and I'm waiting on a new one (but enjoying driving the XE which is no penalty at all) but those 20km were insane, it drives more like my 5.0XKR did, but controllable whereas in that car the back end would tend to go out on acceleration. Completely different to the stock 380HP.

The pulley/tune works the same on the 340HP 6 as it does on the 380HP six so if you are planning on doing it there is no need to get the 380HP one first.

Stock I think there is a bit of difference in driving the 380HP against the 340HP although a lot of people say that they are essentially the same speed to 60mph. On a track you really notice the difference over 60mph if you get on to a straight. The p400 engine used in the F Type special edition was noticeably quicker again, on a track, but I've never driven one on the street. Sometimes it is hard to tell because transmission plays so much into the equation.
