I had 1 litre from Halfords, they charged me £19.00.

Wow! Jeff, and I thought £14.75 was expensive. . The 2.0L petrol Jag takes 7 litres, so at Halfords prices it would cost (Cough splutter) £133 to do an oil change? I must admit, I'm used to buying 5 litres of oil in Halfords for a little over £30 for my previous cars.

I have just purchased, on line, CASTROL EDGE PROFESSIONAL E 0W-20 - 1 LITRE (JAGUAR) to top up the engine oil in between services at a cost of £14.75 including shipping. It's very expensive but obviously necessary for this engine.
Having recently received the oil, I think I know why it's so expensive. I haven't used it yet, but just shaking the container gently the contents feel like water. This oil is certainly very thin and very different to anything I have used before.
