Engine mount replacement?

Post by Blitzxe » Mon Aug 12, 2019 9:50 pm

Hello everyone,

My xe 180 d sport r has recently developed a bad vibration at idle through the exhaust and my engine also lifts on the left hand side under load. Could it be failed engine mount? If so is it a hard job?

If the mounts have failed then most people on here have had it done by a dealer.
Bear in mind they can also fail due to the vacuum pipe that runs them becoming detached which could be an easy fix yourself.
There's a long topic about these and a member from Poland has replaced his so it might be worth contacting him.

it`s easy to replace, my mechanic did it in one hour (not authorized service)

I`m from Poland, we have biggest in EU market for used parts called "allegro" (similar to ebay)
parts > left and right 70 euro with ship, mechanic's cost 25 euro... total 95 euro

for comparison - parts at Jaguar dealer > left and right 440 euro (left 220e + right 220e)

bought here, 280PLN + 20PLN ship = 300PLN = ~70 euro
https://allegro.pl/oferta/jaguar-xe-x760-2-0-d-poduszka-silnika-6a0003-fc-8101734350
(price on the link is 140PLN for one side)

work in Poland is cheap
a mechanic in Germany or England should cost 100 euro or 100GBP, no more :)
