Engine Management Light on (Amber)

Post by 1stjag4me » Mon Aug 17, 2020 7:35 pm

Had the dreaded Amber EML come on today whilst out driving. Stopped for about an hour, restarted the car hoping it was just a blip, but no still on. Got Jag Assist coming out tomorrow to take a look. Car doesn't feel any different when driving so hope it's just a faulty sensor.

Very annoying light, can be caused by many issues. Amber warning light can sometimes stay on for a day or 2 and then just go out on its own. My car went in 3 times (under warranty) before they found the problem. They changed sensors, updated software, and eventually a turbo seal before the car was finally sorted. Not had a problem since. Generally it is safe to use the car with an amber light, although if it changes to a red light! Be aware!
