(Another) sat nav question...
Sorry about this - newbie XE 25d AWD r-sport owner here - enjoying the car but less so its infotainment system!
I have a 67 reg, and I managed to get a free update of the map using my SD card (I dont have the pro version) recently. No options to buy any maps, and to the best of my knowledge I should be getting free updates during my warranty period. Thing is - the map still misses important roads like the new M8 "missing link"...
How often are maps released and is there any way of working out when they (roughly) come out?
Again sorry for the newbie question, but hope you can help!

Firstly you don't get free map updates not even under warranty. There was one free update about a year and a half ago. The last map available was June 2017 and it cost me £98.00. My car was only three months old at the time.

Another question. Is there a way to see the turn list once you're on a journey? I know before you start you can see the different routes but I can't see the turn list once on a journey. Thanks.

Re: (Another) sat nav question...
I too have just updated the sat nav SD card on my 2015 XE Prestige at the cost of £97, only to find maps are grossly out of date e.g. new Forth Bridge (Queensferry Crossing) opened 30/08/2017 and all associated road changes are not on the database I downloaded on 24/09/2018. Now not sure I will benefit at all from my purchase. BEWARE!!!
Re: (Another) sat nav question...
I would think you have a good case for demanding a refund for mis-selling. The road atlases sold in shops have a date on them so you know what you're buying. If you buy something online, haven't you got two weeks to change your mind?tj1511 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 26, 2018 2:51 pmI too have just updated the sat nav SD card on my 2015 XE Prestige at the cost of £97, only to find maps are grossly out of date e.g. new Forth Bridge (Queensferry Crossing) opened 30/08/2017 and all associated road changes are not on the database I downloaded on 24/09/2018. It should be the same with a satnav map update. It should tell you that it includes known road changes up to a set date. They should also tell you when the next update is due.
Very poor service for a quality company. I rarely use the map that came with my July 2017 XE. Within weeks of buying it I found there were changes to junctions on the M1 that were not included. As for country roads -- hello dirt track!

Can anyone tell me what the lastest version is for ICT non-pro drivers?
I seem to have 9.12.38.669223 with a database ending in 26.3.9908. Software tells me that I dont have any updates but im sceptical.

I updated my map in september. The old version was 26.3.9908 and is now 27.1.10033. So it looks like you have an older version.Pareidolia wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 9:24 pmCan anyone tell me what the lastest version is for ICT non-pro drivers?

Interesting. So im booking my car in for an Adblue top up and asked about a satnav update - and I got quoted almost £300! Obviously TTFO.Milfordman wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 10:50 pmI updated my map in september. The old version was 26.3.9908 and is now 27.1.10033. No idea why newer versions are not showing for purchase on the incontrol touch app updater. Oh well...

Re: (Another) sat nav question...
Regarding map updates, the latest versions have road changes that are usually about a year old. Sounds odd, but it was the same with my last car which had a dvd. I bought the newest when it came out and found that it didn't know about a nearby 'new' bypass that opened the previous year. I guess it's to do with the amount of data the map companies need to update each time. It's not just the roads, there's thousands of POIs as well and some of those are well out of date!
An example: In my town it lists "Steve's Fish Bar", which was a good chippy. Steve, bless him, died maybe 7 or 8 years ago. The place soldiered on for a year or so then closed. The building itself was demolished 5 years ago, but there it is, still listed in the POI database...
