Looks good!
(I just hope that dock is wired to “sync”, not only to charge :? )
As far as I can tell it makes use of your own lightning cable.

I have Apple CarPlay working in my Jaguar XE 2017. It shows that the hardware in the car was always good as it’s lightning fast. It does indeed need a lightning cable but you do need and use Apple’s. The only problem I’ve had with it is the connectivity to the button on the steering wheel that allows you to request who you’d like to dial. It seems to not connect sometimes and you have to repair the phone via Bluetooth. Other than this, it works fabulously. Do you note that if you’re in a area where the Internet connectivity is not great, Siri will not perform and therefore ruin part of the experience.

Hi gspot... just wondering if you're located in the UK or US? I'm a US owner (MY17 XE) and ICTP has been a trainwreck since I took delivery over two years ago. Just this past week, my local dealership and JAG USA have told me that Apple Carplay is not yet available in the states, though it would appear that isn't really the case based on a couple of posts I've seen in this thread. Anyway... here I go again... yet another battle with my dealership and Jag USA to simply make this infotainment system work as intended. C'mon Jaguar... do the right thing here! Two years of utter frustration with ICTP is quite enough!!

Sorry if this has been discussed already but i have a MY19 XE with PRO but it does not have android auto. How do i go about installing it? does it have to be done by the manufacturer or is there some DIY software update?

Finally got a reply for JLR regarding this, (only had the car 2 weeks!)

Said it costs £300 to get the smartphone pack installed. They're currently trying to do a deal with the service team to reduce the price...

Who knows...

I'm afraid it's a dealer job to update the software to the most recent "18C" version.
Then Carplay/Android auto can be enabled with the smartphone pack which as you can see may well be at cost.

My dealer tells me that 18c will only be installed if there is a problem with the Pro.

That's really quite disappointing. My car came from the factory with 18C and I know I would make good use of android auto. I don't think I'm willing to pay £300 for it when budget brands come with Android auto / car play as standard. My brother in law has a seat ateca and that has it as standard. I think it's a bit cheeky if JLR to charge extra.
