I have the 10" touch screen pro fitted but as far as I can tell it has not had any updates. It does not have the option to update over the air or the Apple and Google options. I plan to get it serviced at a Jaguar main dealer when the time comes and I was wondering if this is something that they would look at or do I have to ask them to update it? I'm guessing there would be a cost involved with this update!
Yes.
There was a plan last year that all cars with the pro would be updated (can't remember what the update number was) to enable over the air updates and carplay etc.
Definitely speak to the dealer.

Thanks Scuba and Phil.

Scuba, did they charge you for the update?

I've created a new topic regarding the data limit issues as this software update is not responsible.
Please use the new topic for any comments regarding data limits on the sims.

Today the annoying "stay safe" message finally stopped appearing when starting up the car.

I wonder if that means I now have an excuse to drive like a hooligan :D

It stopped popping up the message on mine over the weekend, but coming back from the garden centre this afternoon was the first time I've had a real chance to put it into Sport since the lockdown started - I'd almost forgotten how much better the dash looks with a big red rev counter in the centre, not to mention the result of applying right boot

For those who already got this update , could you please check if the web browser now works ?

The 19B update broke my web browser. It wouldn't load and just gave an error message about it being unavailable. I have been waiting for the new update since but nothing popped up on my car . My car then went in for its first service , and I thought I will get the dealers to install the new update, but this now seems to be spiralling into all sorts of problems.

Apparently updates to the infotainment now needs Jaguar approval ! The dealers say they did a software update to the latest version which didn't fix the problem. So they went back to Jaguar who suggested a change of some telematics module. That didn't fix the problem either and now they are waiting for more information from Jaguar.

It was all working fine till the 19B update. I don't believe the software update may have caused a hardware issue and broken the telematics module. I am not sure what version update they applied to fix the problem either. I can't get to speak to the engineers and can only speak to the service manager who doesn't want to get into any details.

End result, 3 days on car is now still with the dealers, with no solution seemingly in sight. My warranty runs out next week and they want to try and get this sorted before it ends. But given that the original problem was diagnosed before the warranty ended and is not resolved , should the warranty date be a problem ?

This should still be covered by your warranty as it is a fault they have recorded before the warranty ends.

I know it has been a while, but...

I was playing with mine while SWMBO was visiting the vampires, and I found that I had to enable mobile data usage in settings, but then the web browser did work.

Oh and I've definitely got 20A, I checked :D
