ICT (non-pro) Carplay/Android Auto

Post by Borat1987 » Thu May 14, 2020 7:03 pm

Hi,

Ive got Apple Carplay / Android Auto setup on my ICT (non-pro) system. Ive got an XF x260 but this will work the same on an XE. Requires self install, lowering the glove box, disconnecting existing radio, connecting cables and installing the device. It is accessed by holding the home button, it doesnt remove any features and you can swap backwards and forwards between carplay and the existing system.

Works well and is an option for those without the pro system.

The kit is plug and play, unplug the harness from the back of the head unit and connect up the android device.
It costs £375 which i think is reasonable.

Couple of previous threads about this type of upgrade.

I don't know if it's the same system that the OP has so can't comment further.

Their website says £515. Perhaps the price has been updated?

Also, can you share with us some instructions on how to do the connection and where we can buy the media unit?

Thanks !!

I paid $400 for the unit on ebay. They offer Them above $500, but seem to accept a $400 offer, There is a bunch of wiring. It seems to open up a lot of options.

I have not installed it yet.
