Xephil,

I doubt the solution suggested in JTB00567 will actually fix the rattle or creak you're experiencing because it applies to vehicles built at Solihull. XE production was transferred to Castle Bromwich in September 2016, so your car is outside the VIN range covered by JTB00567.

Of course, the fault could recur on vehicles built at Castle Bromwich, but in that case I would expect JLR to issue another technical bulletin.

Thank you, that´s exactly my thought. I suppose its some part close to the front bulkhead (inside or outside). I'll keep y`all informed.

Thank you once more. I don't think, that this really fits.

The noise doesn't appear immidiately when turning the steering wheel. It kind of follows after the car deflects (only steering to the right). It "feels" like the windscreen and dashboard are moving opposite direction. Maybe others parts.

I will ask the dealer, what he thinks.

Could anyone look this up for me pls:

Just found this on topix but can't download it.

Hi Xephil,

Did you get to the bottom of this issue? Has the dealer fixed it for you?

He hasn´t.

But I am finally pretty sure that I found the source of the noise.

I believe it was the front bumper touching the headlight (on the right side of the car) slightly (both are very close). So I bent the bumber edge (in the non visible area) a little bit and since then there was no rattling or creaking noise anymore. Considering that the noise was reduced after a while of driving I guess that this was because of a settling and maybe because of the heat of the Xenon lights.

Well fancy that. Something that you wouldn't expect. I am glad that it is sorted.

I actually found out more or less coincidentally, while once more searching for the source in the engine compartment. I leaned forward an touched the bumber. I cross checked this on the left (drivers) side ("right" side in continental europe ;-)) where it didn´t cause any noise.

I'll just have to wait an see if the issue is finally sorted. I'll keep y'all updated.
