An update
I went the insurance route.
Screen replaced by Autoglass for a £75 glass excess.
The insurance company (AXA) say it will have no effect on my premium or NCD.
I had a word with my dealer, and they say they don't use the service position when replacing wiper blades, because of this problem.
They change wiper blades in the rest position.
