Bumper Damage. Need help!!!

Post by Harry405 » Tue Jul 09, 2019 2:09 pm

Afternoon Everyone.. After getting lost Down a small country road I managed to hit a rock whilst trying to make a turn. What’s the best option for me? Can it be fixed or will it be cheaper to get a new Bumper??

I've heard that some dents like this in plastic can be released with a hair drier. It won't help the paint but at least it might get the dent out.

For the paint I've used 'Chips Away', but whilst good, I don't consider cheap. A local body shop could probably do better.

I locked myself out of the house a couple of weeks ago and had to break in. I used a crow bar on my smallest ground floor UPVC window and in doing so damaged the window frame. It was really bad and I thought a new window was needed. However, I borrowed a friend's heat gun, set it to low heat first and then gently applied the heat. I could not believe my eyes as I watched the frame return to its original shape. So it's worth a try on your bumper, you may be as surprised as I was.
