Black plastic door trim

Post by Lazerjules » Fri May 22, 2020 9:01 pm

Hello everyone

I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of a workshop manual / page that details how to change the black plastic door trim please.

It part number 2 in the attached picture.

I assume this is a dealer only part? If anyone knows a source to get one that would be helpful too.

My passenger door was opened eagerly against something and this trim piece is now broken.

Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

I've attached the workshop guides, you should find them below.

I believe the part you're after is T4N16338 for the left/passenger door (or T4N16337 for the right/drivers door).

Just search Google and/or eBay for that part number.
You can also contact the parts department directly at your local Jaguar dealership with that part number and order it there, but you'll likely pay more.

That’s great thank you so much Zingiber

I should be able to work it out from those guides, thank you for taking the time to help, much appreciated.

I’ll post back when I’ve done it with some pics, might help someone else too.

Thanks 😊

Me again

Just had a look and it’s not obvious how to access the fixing marked 12 in the picture I posted, that doesn’t appear in the workshop guides you kindly posted, is there another one which might show this?

The lower trim comes off easily which is good to know for cleaning 🙂

My bad.

Looks like you need Step 18 of the Front Door document.
Which to get access to that you might need to do Step 16.
Which in turn I think you need to remove the door panel, described in the Trim Panel document.

Thank you again very much

I’ll have a look.
Bit of a mission to replace isn’t it.

Will post back how I get on.

All done
Thank you for the help.
It was so quick to do I didn’t take any pictures.

Unwind window and take off lower trim
Release upper rubber seal and trim (no need to remove completely)
Pull out main window seal (no need to do it completely)
Remove 4 retaining screws

Pull out old one

Reverse

Thanks very much

Part number was T4N16338
