Post by Borat1987 » Tue Jun 16, 2020 1:52 pm

Hi,

Does anyone have the rough dimensions of the gear select panel on an automatic XE?

Thanks

Dan

If you're meaning the black pop-out panel it's;

169mm long ctc
150mm wide at top
138mm wide at bottom before radius

Approximately :)

I have to admit I've changed that panel in mine. Too much shiny black plastic for my liking so now it is satin grey wood effect. :)

Did you replace with a totally different part or get one of those stick on covers? Any pics of how it looks with the rest around being piano black?

Saw a brand new Jaguar part on the auction site so jumped at it. My interior is brogue leather so not an all black look, unlike my first Xe. It looks good and adds the finishing touch as far as I'm concerned :)

I'll get a pic up tomorow.

Yes. I found it easier to lift up the rubber panel at the top, which then allowed me access to pop up the black panel. No tools required, just a bit of finger force.

On my 1st XE I had a scratch mark on the panel so had it vinyl wrapped with carbon fibre. When car went in for service, dealership were impressed.
