That bumper is the worst thing about Project 8 but it looks even worse as a stand-alone add-on to the standard XE! 🤮

I'm no trying to create a P8 lookalike, that's not the idea, I think the leaper looks cool so why not. If it doesn't look right then it's easily removed.

That is the right strategy. Stick it on one side and see what it looks like. In this weather it will take 5 minutes to remove if you don't like it.

I know what's wrong, and if I could find it, I'd fix it.

It's all subjective, one man's meat etc. Personally, if I had a P8, I'd want it wing and decal free.

Not a fan myself but like others said easily removed and it’s your car so you can do as you like. I would also want to remove a decal if I had a P8, but that car in general would be considered boy racer by a the general public anyway, they’d think a P8 was a standard car modded.

If anything on the standard XE is slightly weak it’s that rear black plastic diffuser, but I’ve never seen any improvements people have made to that

The Xe was basically a new introduction to Jaguar car aimed at those who never thought of buying a Jaguar because of cost. It was meant to go head to head with the German boxes. The Project 8 is basically a race saloon and the price tag goes some way to showing that. If you have the cash then it's available but has limited interest because of the price.

For that kind of money I think there’s a whole world of other cars that I’d prefer. But in its segment and price range the XE was the best choice for me - so much more interesting than another 3 series or A4 would have been. Not that they’re rare, they just aren’t the obvious choice so feel a bit more special, and built in the UK is the best and worst thing about it

I replaced mine with a quad pipe setup but it depends on which rear valance you mean, there are a few different ones.

The V6 S had a nice valance - painted gloss black and with nice curves instead of the bare plastic one with the sharp crease.

You could buy upgrades to have the S valance and a few did it.

Mostly thinking of the plain black plastic on the diesel R-Sport (dual pipe both on the left, unpainted black plastic). I’m thinking of getting mine sprayed black or wrapped in a more gloss type colour, and adding the Yeti tips.

I do like the black tips in the photo Phil posted though! Might try to get something like that for mine if available.
