If it approved used why cant you claim warranty of this part?
Exactly.
It should be covered under the approved used warranty (2 years from date of purchase) so get the dealer to sort it out.

As a separate thought I've just read through the whole of this topic........

I think approved used warranty wouldn't cover body works, trim or paint works. I may be wrong.

This plastic trim costs over £85. I have got one replaced. I forgot the part number but was ordered through the main dealer. They located it using car registration number.

Thanks for the responses, I'd assumed it wouldn't be covered but I will try dealer and see how far I get - otherwise I'll just get one ordered through them, I was hoping to pick one up on the internet, as it just clips in, it's hardly a tricky DIY job - £85 for something that just flies off in a bit of strong wind isn't great though. On the +ve side, there aren't too many examples of it happening that I've found, so hopefully I was just unlucky....

Until you picked up this old thread I couldn't recall it happening at all.
Looks like very early cars could be the only ones that might be affected.

It depends on whether there was any damage done to the trim by windscreen replacement or other works. Mine was damaged by someone who did some body work. It was few months until I saw it.

It's very firm and secure otherwise.

Just be careful to make sure you get the correct part from ebay sellers as I’ve noticed quite a few where the pictures and descriptions don’t match. I’m looking for a flat boot floor (space saver compatible) and have seen quite a few pictures like mine that say they’re suitable, one that appears to be flat that says it’s not suitable and even an F Pace one that says it will fit an XE

Thanks for the additional information and the part number. I'll take heed of the ebay warning - I had an issue replacing my X-Type Air Intercooler hose - the latest 08 model had a modified EGR arrangement, but the seller was still selling the pre-08 hoses to fit - not such an issue as those are relatively cheap parts.
