I changed from the OEM Dunlops to the Michelin PS4S (which is also on 19 venoms) and the difference really is night and day. Much much sharper turn in and balance. The stiffer sidewall does make the ride a bit more bumpy. I got rid of the dunlops even with about 4mm left because the wet weather grip was terrible (although it would slide every easily on roundabouts which was good fun). Even with the V6 it really struggles to break traction mid corner with the Michelins

Looks like the PS4S’s are the hot choice here, anyone had any experiences with Goodyear eagle f1 asy 5’s?

Not recently. I had Eagle F1 asy3 on my previous car which was an Alfa GT. Goodyear F1s were OEM from new on that. Grippy and not noisy.

I had a couple of tyres that went out of shape, which I reckoned might have been ones made in their Chinese factory. So I made sure I got the ones made in Germany after that.

Eagle F1 Asys have been my choice for years, and I've been more than happy with them, but Insignias and Vectras might not be the best testbeds

I'll probably go for the F1 Asy5s when my Dunlops need to go - Michelin don't currently do the 4S in 225/45 R18 :o

My last set of new tyres were Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy 3 for my XF. A big improvement on the Dunlops that were on the car when I bought it. I'd certainly consider Eagle F1 Asy again when my XE needs new tyres.
