19 inch rim size - Jaguar XE P300 AWD

Hello,
I would like to upgrade my XE (2019; updated model - P300 AWD) with new 19'' wheels.
Im a bit conefused however. Following the recommended tire sizes (F 225/40, R255/35), it seems I need to purchase two different rims widhts (7.5 and 8.5 x 19).
Is it safe to run tires of eual size on all wheels? Thus eliminating the need of getting different rims to front and rear.

Basically, NO!

The smaller width front tyre is too narrow for the wider rear wheels and the wider rear tyres are too wide for the narrower front wheels.

If your buying new wheels, the cost difference of getting staggered tyres to fit is negligible.

Nothing wrong with having 19x8 wheels on each corner fitted with 235/40 19 tyres. It won't be standard, but it'll work just fine.

Personally I would go wider where you can, within the tolerances of course. Not only does it fill out the wheel wells better, but you also get more protection from kerb rash. I look for the tyres with a decent ridge around them, which helps on the latter as well. The pilot supersports come to mind, and are a lovely match for the car.

Whichever way you go, I agee with wider is better, more rubber between you and the ground is better, to a point. I wouldn't go beyond the manufacturer recommended sizes. The tyres do need to be the correct size rim though regardless.
