Brake Pads

Post by glcohen » Tue Jan 09, 2018 5:38 pm

Do anyone know who is the manufacturer of the original brake pads fitted to a petrol XE 20T with 17" wheels. Jaguar part numbers are T4N13434 (front) and T2H9989 (rear) ?
XE 2.0 Prestige 20T Auto (MY 2017) , Rhodium Silver with Oyster interior, Gloss figured ebony veneer, Split rear Seat, Park Assist and surround camera pack, Power fold and dimming mirrors, Space saver spare wheel.

I know they're made in Germany (on the packaging) but who by is probably varying all the time as long as its to Jaguar specification.

I suspect that its Brembo. Mintex and Girling do not list front sets for 17" wheels so maybe they are not suppliers.

There's Mintex on sale on Ebay for the XE, I'm assuming that they're genuine.

I found the pads on my XE to be amazingly good at not producing brake dust - would really be sure to get like-for-like replacements.

Whatever the composition is they put on F-Types is an absolute nightmare!

The online Mintex catalogue gives part numbers that differ from those in the eBay listing. Mintex say MDB3837 front pads for a 17" brake system but do not say if the rear pads listed as MDB3783 are also 17".

Does the XE give a warning on the dash for low break pads?

Related to brake pads it interesting that Mintex have repeated warnings on their website against using copper based products with brake components. They recommend their Ceratec for the caliper pins and brake pads.
