The argument is entirely yours and of your own making.
I spent almost my entire working life in the industry, and have been retired for over 21 years so I think I've probably forgotten more than you are ever likely to know about it.
I did suggest you leave it.
Any more comments of that kind to another member and you will find yourself out of here for a while.
End of the matter.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis, Vespa. I hope you'll respond well to treatment. Keep fighting and don't give up. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to everyone who has posted. I will go for two new tyres; as others have said, daft to compromise on safety. Best wishes Vespa to you and your wife and all other members suffering with ill health.

Has anyone fitted all season tyres to their XE? My wife has a AWD 2 litre diesel with 225/45. She commutes 30 miles each way on a mixture of country lanes, dual carriageways & Motorway. I’ve been looking at Bridgestone Weather Control, Continental Allseason Contact and Vredestein Quatrac Pro. TIA.
