alloy peel

Post by Boney » Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:11 pm

Hi

noticed that the lacquer has come of my rear propller alloy about the size of a 50 pence piece. There has been no damage to the wheel.
Anyone else had the same problem, will be dropping into the local dealer to see what they have to say tomorrow

Not heard of any other issues with the Propellors.
Hopefully they will get it refurbed under warranty.

A small stone chip left unoticed will allow water ingress and bubble the laquer and the corrosion starts. Ialways check all the whel surfaces when washing the car.Hopefully you will get a repair under warranty.

Any update on this problem?
Gave car a wash this a.m. and noticed a few rust "bubbles" on two of the alloys. These are not a result of "kerb rash" as they are the inside of the "spokes". Car is 0nly 6 months old.Should I be contacting dealer to see if this is covered by warranty?

Yes. I may have a very small one but cannot feel any surface damage but find it hard to see at times.

Hi

mine are not rust bubbles but the lacquer on the diamond cut alloy lifting off, as such they are replacing the effected wheels
