I'm to delicate with it in every way.
I slow down to go over bumps less than 5mph
If I notice pot holes, I do the same
Corners no more than 10mph (in towns)
Scared to damage the suspension haha.

Does anyone find the 350 mm front discs hard to source? I need to replace my front discs and the only one that look the same as the genuine discs are the brembo ones (might be jags supplier) but ECP and like dont seem to stock anything for the XE S. Had a look at ebay but the 350 mm diameter one isn't there.
Does anyone have a good place to source parts from? I contacted the main dealer who wanted £600 for discs and pads and then a local indy who wanted £590!

I see I've taken up your evening looking at brakes! I'm not too sure what effect going aftermarket will have on warranty and insurance even if it built to comply with manufacturer spec (I don't want to give anyone a reason to help themselves to my wallet) . The Brembo ones have the black painted section on the centre which is like the normal OEM discs, so my thinking was if I got those then visually at least they are the same.
I was using autodoc which is german company but their reviews for UK users has been terrible when it comes to returns!
Jaguar treat discs and pads as consumables. As long as the parts of of OE quality or better, and are fitted by a VAT registered garage, there is no comeback. Keep all the bills!
As for insurance, like for like replacement will not have to be notified but performance upgrades like crossdrilled discs will.
The Apec website states that if the original discs are coated then the 3184's will be too. I'm planning to buy a set of front/rears soon and get them fitted by a local garage, prior to a first service in November.

EBC brakes direct is the original EBC site.

They're 350mm.
"EBC brake shop" is not the same.
I've just had fitted 325mm EBC OEM spec discs front and rear plus Redstuff pads. They are an OEM replacement which will not affect warranty as brakes are consumables.
My local Protyre depot fitted them for me.
Total bill just under £600 with a smile too.

Yup, sadly the break discs and pads are a "wear and tear" item. So isn't covered by warranty anyway.
Unless like me you had an issue at 10k miles where they'd corroded. Lol.
(That story is further back in this thread)
So when it comes to it, I'll be in the same boat as you. And would be very interested in what ones you end up going with.
Like for like ones will obviously be a good choice for insurance.
But as far as JLR are concerned they aren't a warranty item so you can feel free to look around for whatever you prefer with regards to that 😊

Just replaced my rear discs and pads at 27000 miles with Brembo (£118 from GSF). The only difference I've noticed after doing about 500 miles is that there is a bit of brake dust on the alloys whereas there was vitually none on the originals.

That should diminish as the discs and pads bed into one another.

It might but I'll be surprised if it does. The pads are unlikely to be the same as the originals and the XE is the first car I have ever had which didn't leave brake dust on the wheels.

No dust tends to indicate very hard pads. New discs are a machined finish which can be surprisingly rough (microscopically) and take a good while to polish up, depending on use. Best is frequent and gentle, avoiding prolonged or harsh braking.

I wonder if the originals were very hard? There was never any brake dust at all from them which always amazed me. I am not a hard user of brakes and certainly haven't had to give them any real stick since they were fitted so time will tell.
I watched something on TV a few days back with a combination of carbon composite that is now being used on sportier cars. I wonder if that compound is what Jaguar are using as they remarked on reduced heat and dust.
The lack of dust is because the originals are ceramic pads. Some replacements are not.
