One of my alloys with lacquer peel has just been rejected by my local dealerships workshop controller, who suggested it had been subjected to some sort of impact damage which is absolute garbage. However, I didn’t take it further as the dealership where I bought it from 9 months ago have agreed to pay for a full refurbishment at a local specialist of my choice. The wheel is currently in with them and due back Friday so it’s a good outcome. Always worth asking the question.
Hi Ian0304, would you mind letting me know the name of the dealer who agreed to the refurb? I think I will get the same answer from the local dealer but it would be good to have a response in reserve.

Had the same on 1 of my wheels. I mentioned at the last service, when i picked the car up after the service they said they had ordered a new wheel under warranty and would fit it when it came in. Which they did a week later. Always worth asking.

Needless to say, my visit to the local main dealer yesterday was a waste of time. They managed to find a tiny nick at each of the corrosion sites so stone chips to blame and all bets are off. I asked them to refer it to JLR and was told "I'll text you the number". Still waiting......

If you can't a result from JLR, give it a go and do it yourself. Really not that difficult. I have done all 4 of mine....viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9010
