Pads and disc info

Post by Gixr6 » Tue Sep 15, 2020 3:22 pm

hi folks,

Im going to order new front pads and discs for my 2016 XE. A few questions I hope you can help me with.

1. Do both front left and right have brake wear sensors, or just the one?
2. Is the size of discs marked on the caliper for reference or is it a case of take the wheel off and measure the diameter yourself?
3. Lastly, any particular make of discs and pads that folk have found to be the best?

Cheers.

I'll do my best to answer until an expert comes along;

1, Just one sensor on front and one on rear.

2, You are likely to have the 316mm disks which you should be able to check without taking the wheel off. The next size up is 325mm, and then it jumps to 350mm.

3, You might want to consider low dust pads, or a ceramic type. Jaguar pads are considered good for not producing a lot of dust. Pity about the discs though.
