Just wondering if anyone has replaced discs with non jag ones and pads with genuine jag pads? This would surely cut down on the dust problem?

That was my thought too when I need to replace. I had to get new rear discs and pads for my previous 180D. I used Brembo and 12 months later the discs were absolutely fine, no signs of any corrosion but the pads did produce some dust, not an excessive amount but a thin layer on the wheels compared to nil from the originals. Be good to know who makes pads for Jaguar. Almost certainly discs and pads come from several sources. I noticed the calipers were stamped FoMoCo whoever they might be.

Hi all,

Just a quick update, I have now replaced the front discs and pads with no issues, but did notice there were no manufacturer marks on the original discs, only wear tolerances and size. I also noticed that on one of the old discs that there was about half an inch of corrosion on the outer edge like the pad wasn’t in contact with the disc. In the week or so of running the rear discs and pads there seems to be no clunking while reversing or squeaking/ squealing of pads so far. Not sure about dusting issues due to the fact I have black alloys and have not washed it yet ! I’ll update again in a few hundred miles whilst they bed in.
