Firenze Red with Light Oyster Interior

Post by ant_in_wales » Fri Jan 11, 2019 11:32 am

Greetings all!

Just bought a 2015 22k miles 161 Prestige.
I'd long wanted the red, but thought the black interior a bit dark.

We'd admired the cream (light oyster) interior at a.dealer, and suddenly that combination appeared in Bury.
Just inside budget, 22k miles, a quick test drive and it was mine.

I love it - the auto.means you're not really driving, comfortable on the long drive home, stereo good once the volume's up.
I'm not keen on the engine note (too high after my more manly Octavia sound) but that's it.

I have a general and a specific question.

Cleaning.
Is waxing worthwhile? What should I use? No marks to fix, but I want to keep it looking suuny.
My neighbour says I.need a.power washer for rinsing (will connect to water butt) but do you agree.?

Leather is completely spotless, except for a.small tear.
Is fixing this important, and if so, how.

I'm going to try to attach two photos ....

Congratulations!

The firenze red is an awesome colour and I was sorely tempted by it myself.

I'd say waxing and cleaning definitely worthwhile - it's a Jaguar!

What products would you recommend?
I've had company cars for 20 years and intend to enjoy my first private purchase.

There's a few topics on here that deal with all of that tbh, have you tried searching in the search box at the top? There's a lot of info!
