Happy Xmas

Post by Prof Kidney » Sun Jun 02, 2019 4:18 pm

New to the land of Jag - I've been the last 20 odd years with various forms of Audi and decided on a change. Just ordered an XE S-line (I mean R Sport) 2019/2020 spec. The order was placed at the end of May - delivery date? December. That's about 6 months if my maths is correct. Is JLR still on the 3 day week or do they just build things very slowly and carefully. I'm not that bothered as my Audi should last 6 months, but am curious if this is usual.
Incidentally dealer(s) originally stated Aug/Sept delivery, but this shifted.
Interestingly a colleague ordered an Audi recently, only to have her order pushed down the line by 3 months.....

Welcome and I'm sure you will gain a lot from being here.
Six months is pretty unusual and I'm not aware of any reasons why that should be.
In most cases, it's a 3 month wait as you were originally quoted.
Hopefully things might improve and the build date starts to come backwards.

Thanks for the kind words, you were bang on - just had a call from my dealer, and delivery shifted to September. Excellent. :D
