If Comfort is inadequate then try Sport. If that’s no good then it’s a new car!

I am presuming you are driving an R Sport variation as the supension and tyre combination do tend to give a more harsh ride at low speeds on an uneven surface. There is no way around it regarding suspension. The driving modes may be better in Normal.

Dynamic for me all day long with the gearbox in D. Driving modes will only affect suspension if you have the adaptive dynamics.

Wheel size can make a difference, but both of my 18" wheeled Xe's were/are supremely comfortable on the NSL twisty Scottish A roads.

Not sport on the A55 as I was stopped this afternoon and got away with a telling off. I was doing 85 and a plain unmarked BMW police car lit up in blue lights behind. I was luckily in uniform so took the roasting and warning. I am usually well inside the limit as I see quite a few cars stopped around Colwyn Bay for speeding.

Mine normally sits in Eco round town  , and Dynamic anywhere interesting, but I might use Comfort on a really bumpy road.

Sport is usually reserved for when there's just me in the motor, otherwise I get some noise from the front passenger seat

I live in Suffolk where it's all country roads, my R-Sport rode on 19s and my R-Dynamic is on 20s and I find the ride very good compared to a previous Alfa 147 and BMW 330i and especially my Wife's Mini Cooper, all of which shook my fillings out.

Have you checked your tyre pressures are set correctly as the XE is reknown for it's ride quality even on poor roads and with low profile tyres.

Different strokes for different folks, I'm pretty much in dynamic and sport all the time, unless cruising on a motorway then it's eco and D

As you say "Different strokes for different folks" I tend to use ECO mode most of the time around town as I find it easier to keep near to the speed limit. I use normal mode on most A and B roads and country lanes and Sport on motorways.

Mine is most often in'S' but not with the hooligan mode selected, that only gets pressed when I'm on my own. I find the box responds better and fuel economy is slightly better than in 'D'.
