New owners quiestions

Post by TheDutch » Fri Oct 16, 2020 10:11 pm

I have recieved the keys of my XE yesterday :D :D :D :D

But i have some questions.

- Is there a possibility to code some futures? Something like Bimmercode or Carly for BMW?

- Can i disable the start stop permanently?

- is there website where i can enter my vin number and see all the options my car has?

- how can i figure out which sat nav version is running in the car currently?

Hope you guys can help me out. :)

Hello and congratulations..

What did you get and what was your wait times from order to collection?

For start stop there's a long thread on this forum, if you do a search on start stop you should get that information. But why do you want it off, just curious?

For Vin, try this website

https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/v ... lookupForm

Can't answer your other questions as am unsure.

Enjoy your ride.

As has been said it's difficult to answer your questions without knowing which year your car is and which model.
There are two different sat nav versions at the moment (with another - Pivi Pro on the way).
The early version has an 8"screen with hard buttons on the sides.
The later version has a 10" screen with touch buttons on the screen.
As regards they keys it may not be possible to add an extra key without renewing the existing keys and the module that controls it in the car.

2017 XE S 380, Carpathian grey.

I’m sorry for the missing information 🙂

Its a XE portfolio 07-2016. Model year is 2017
I thought I bought the AWD version but I have the feeling it is the normal RWD🤔

Unfortunately topix doesn’t work in the Netherlands.
If I’m correct it’s has the normal touch version.

I want the start stop disabled because I am afraid of chain problems. This might reduce the chance

Hi and welcome.
For the 1st two points you mentioned,

- Is there a possibility to code some futures? Something like Bimmercode or Carly for BMW?

- Can i disable the start stop permanently?

I haven't found any app or software to do any coding on the Jags like you can with BMW or Audi, I wish there was as its something I'd used in the past on those makes.

As for permanently disabling stop/start, there is a topic on here somewhere that covers this, it involves removing a module from behind the trim in the right hand side of the boot.

If my 2017 XE is anything to go by, the Stop/Start will stop working after a while, so you no longer have to turn it off after starting the engine.

Isn't there a software update out now to fix this start stop issue?

Normally AWD has an extra badge on the car (I guess it could be removed). If you want to check, you can see the AWD working via one of the settings on the infotainment. (Even on the smaller screen system). It shows a graphic of which wheels are driving and what % of power. Normally it shows just the rear wheels pushing out power, but if you accelerate hard the front wheels start to kick in.
