Monza red/tan interior XE 2.0d 2018

Hi - had the car since new. Previously BMW owner for years so STILL scratching around for knowledge. Getting towards 3 years old in Sept and the extended warranty hard sell has started. Since it's more than car insurance and I don't have to have it I'm tempted to 'insure myself'. I've had some experience of Jag MD prices compared with other maintenance. So … does anybody have any experience with an independent Jag specialist in the Brighton area, pretty please?

In my humble opinion, it is waste of money. I droved for nearly 30 yrs many cars and never hat a terrible experience with them. Yes, sometime they broke and need to be fixed, sometime I fix myself and when don't know how, go to an local garage who will do for far less money than main dealer. Save that money and when things go wrong use it. Most maintenance can be done by any average person with very little tools and save also a lot of money. Just to give few examples. When bought the car, approved used XE 2.0l diesel 180 in January, didn't had time to service myself so I look for a quotation for major service at MD, £640. My local garage done it for £343 and I have contacted Jaguar customer service with a copy of full service and they updated online service history. This month, 5200 mls later, I have changed oil and oil filter myself for under £80. My brake disks was badly corroded, I looked on my local Jaguar dealer for a price, £920 front and rear for disks and pads. Bought disks and pads and replaced myself for £266. Do your math. My opinion.
