caldera red
caldera red
I've been umming and erring over the colour of my xe on order. Currently Narvik Black but quite the look of the Caldera Red as looks like quite a dark red but hard to tell with the computer images.
Anyone got one in Caldera Red and can post a photo?
Choices, Choices!
Thanks

Re: caldera red
Isn't Caldera red the non-metallic red that's a no-cost option ?
Have a look through the "gallery index" thread but I can't ever recall seeing one on here in anything but one of the metallic reds.
But bear in mind the colours on there will be the "old" ones.
Same colours but different names these days apart from one or two that are discontinued.

Re: caldera red
The Caldera Red is the replacement for the old Salsa Red,
unlike the Italian Racing Red (aka Firenze Red) it's a non-metalic paint.
if you're keen to see how it looks under sunshine, go watch "world's greatest drag race 4 & 6",
one is coated in IRR and the other one is Caldera.
Also, unlike Salsa, it leans toward blue on the spectrum, as opposed to orange,
basically, it's a new red color, I sorta like red Jags, keen to see if anyone had specced the new Caldera red.
An old post said that Ian Callum had insisted red (IRR) to be on the option list, I am quite thankful for that,
or we'll all be driving 100 shades of grey these days...

Re: caldera red
ha ha, the E-Pace does look quite apart,
the proportions are a bit odd, but after a while it does look cute,
perhaps a little too cute compared to the xe and F-pace.
I hope xe could get the E-pace's tech one day though...

Re: caldera red
We are well over 2 years since the XE launch and they still haven't got the tech completely right yet!
They will probably finally fix it just before they change it again!!

Re: caldera red
Looking at the link g7 posted, that looks to be a lot brighter red than IRR/Firenze, rather than darker, but I think the XE will look good in it.

Re: caldera red
Thanks all for the replies - stuck with the narvik black in the end, the red is a bit it bright for me.
