A couple years ago I was told the way to get action is to report a pothole to the Police as a danger to cyclists, bless them. I did so regarding a bad pothole directly outside my address, and behold it was rapidly repaired, and not long after, a whole stripe up one side of our road (there were many other potholes) was properly resurfaced. The Council warned us that the work would take up to a week. In the event they sub-contracted the work to a company who actually knew what they were doing, and the whole quarter mile was done in less than a day! And it's still good.
