Incontrol remote premium renewal

Post by Vespa » Mon May 14, 2018 12:58 pm

Well, I renewed my Incontrol remote @£30 and was not offered renewal of Incontrol remote PREMIUM. After several calls to JLR CRC I was eventually told it was part of Incontrol remote and would renew. OH NO IT DOESN'T!!! :evil: So today a day after it's expiry I have Incontrol Remote but not Premium, so I have been back on to JLR CRC to get it sorted. I am awaiting a phone call. And before anyone asks No I did not get a reminder to renew the Premium at the time of the Incontrol remote. I am not very happy with this situation as it seems JLR do not know their anus from their olecranon.

No phone call back so I phoned again. 25 Mins hanging on then Iwas told that the complaint would be redelivered to the Incontrol team. To be fair the young lady who tried to help me persevered to get to grips fully with the problem. I await a call again that will probably be in days rather than hours. Not a happy bunny at present.

does amaze me how they never seem to get these things right - just the sort of thing that makes you give up on a brand

I must admit I love the car but am serious thinking of getting shut even though I have wasted over £700 on extended warranty and renewal of the Incontrol remote. I expected niggles being a new car at the time but I am fast loosing faith in a £42000 car. :cry:

I must admit I am really confused about the differences of;
InControl Remote
InControl Remote Premium
InControl Protect
InControl Secure
InControl Apps
InControl Support etc.

JLR have done a tremendous job of befuddling the user with the lack of clear information as to what does what and often using different names for the same service. Sounds like their own employees are just as confused.

If the car handles well, is a comfortable ride, it always gets you to your destination, and the only problems are with the electronic toys, stick with it. Who needs the toys anyway?

KnightInd2000, may I respectfully suggest that you check with your users manual (probably in the glove box of your car) or alternatively go to:
http://www.ownerinfo.jaguar.com/model/4 ... 377_en_GBR and type "Incontrol" in the search box.
I think you'll find that it explains all the incontrol features available for the XE

Thorn, you may not use the electronic toys but like Vespa, if i have paid over £40k for something, I expect it all to work!
