Transfer of address book contacts

Post by warnersb » Wed Oct 10, 2018 4:22 pm

Just recently bought a 2018 Jaguar XE Portfolio. I have paired my iPhone 7 Plus to the Jag. My contacts on the iPhone are listed alphabetically in surname order but they appear in christian name order on the Jag.
This has not happened on previous Jaguars I've owned (XF's) and there appears to be no option to change the order to match the iPhone. This doesn't seem to be logical and looks very much like a software issue with this model of XE or my particular car.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue or does anyone know more about this problem or possible solution.

Many thanks

I've found that happens over a number of devices.

I recently got my XE as well and stumbled across that in the settings just today, can''t remember where though... But it's possible ;)

I thought you had to do it via incontrol apps whilst the phone is connected via cable.

I can connect via bluetooth and contacts appear on the screen.

Okay, so I checked again.
Phone -> Settings -> Bluetooth Settings -> All devices -> there you go ;)

Hi Colonie - thanks for your response.
I'm not quite sure I follow your answer. I don't see an 'All Devices' option on my iPhone. I have in fact transferred my contacts to the Jag XE, it's just not in the same order as it is on the iPhone, which is surname first - a bit irritating!

No no, not in your phone. In the car ;)
But I need to correct myself:
Phone -> Settings -> Phone Settings -> All devices -> Order by Forename/Surname

Sorry. The reason I thought you meant the phone is because those settings/options don’t exist on my car screen. As mentioned, it is 2018 registered with the 8 inch screen ( buttons on each side). I suspect you are referring to the 2019 model with the 10 inch screen which I believe has the option of changing the order. Why the option is not on the 2018 model is crazy, unless it’s a software error.
