Has anyone else had problems with their first MOT? A number of posts have been made concerning scoring of brake discs, for example and I wonder if anyone has failed the MOT or picked up advisories?

My MOT is due soon. Rear brake discs are corroded. The first service is next week so will try to get them changed under the warranty. Imho it is faulty components not wear as they are not worn thin.

How big was this bulge ? I have a small bulge in one of my rear tyres (I think it was there since purchase but I only noticed a week or two later) and my MOT is due at the end of this month..

Is there a degree of 'bulge acceptability' ? I wonder if , for example, a main dealer might be a bit more picky if they think they can sell you a tyre. I had this with a BMW. The rears were on the limit and it failed MOT at a BMW main dealer. As it turns out I'd already ordered tyres at a local tyre place which were ready for fitting and just did the MOT and tyre fit in the wrong order (don't ask - logistics). Took it straight from BMW to the tyre place and they said they'd have passed it for MOT purposes on the old tyres (and they did MOT's). Then back to BMW for my free re-test certificate about 20 minutes later

A bulge is dangerous don't risk a blowout.

Mine was about the size of a egg I had the choice take the car away for a new tyre but main gave a very good price plus some discount so Ilet them sort its not worth the risk driving with damage tyres
