Interesting to see it notes diesel XE cars from: 10. 10. 2014 - 20. 11. 2018.
Forgive my ignorance but were any made/sold in 2014? I've certainly never seen any 14 plates.
The XE was launched in October 2014 and therefore launch cars and journalist cars are registered with either 14 and 64 plates, customer orders weren't delivered until the 15 plate. Numerous prototypes ran on 14 plates

Many thanks Domfow, I did wonder whether these year 14/64 plate cars were not for general consumption.

IF this is a software update don't do it I had a VW 2L Jetta 2011 never let me down once. After update nothing but trouble it was done under the update warranty, funny you got a 2 year warranty after VW done the update. Car run much hotter and after every run the fan was always on. car always seemed to be doing a regen. found out later I did not have the work done.

My car may well be one of the affected vehicles - will wait and see, but I sure do hope that this does not degenerate in to a Volkswagen type fiasco. I will be very disappointed if that happens. In the meantime I will carry on enjoying my superb vehicle none the less. Let us hope any remedy/fix does not affect the drive in any negative way.

Has anyone been rang about the repair? Or had it undertaken??
Let us know if you know what it does - not keen for unknown changes to be made to my car

Quite shocked and disappointed to read in the news about this recall. I have argued with others since taking delivery of my XE R-Sport 2litre diesel on 1st June 2017 that its emissions are really quite clean, especially with the AdBlue feed into the exhaust system.
I have not been contacted by my dealer yet - Sturgess Jaguar, Leicester, but will be interested as to what exactly is involved.= with the recall.
Jaguar XE diesel models are affected between 2016 - 2018.
As it happens coincidentally I have just received a message on the dash that my AdBlue needs topping up. Due to a chronic back problem, and being retired, I have only completed just under 7,000 miles since new.
I would also like to know from Jaguar Land Rover why this has come about.
Following the VW scandal one hoped that debacle was done with in the motor industry, so trust is very important, and at present, my trust in the car that I have cherished until now and loved driving is being put to the test!

Not sure if it's been mentioned already but the 2016 cars have a lower AdBlu dosage rate. I think it was my17 when they upped (doubled?) the dosage. Which is why mine will do maybe 15-16k miles per tankful and my neighbor's 17 plate 180D only does 8k... Most likely will be a software change to up the AdBlu dose.

The thing about tyre change must be the same as the 163 Prestige? that only came with 17" wheels, as that was the only way they could get it below the magic (at the time) 100g/km CO2...

Unless I'm barking up the wrong tree (again), the stated discrepancy is with co2 emissions and adblu is more to do with nox. I'm expecting to see a performance reduction unless ways can be found to increase engine efficiency.

My 2015 240 bhp Ford engine XE has had an MOT with no problem, but the MOT says nothing about CO2, anyway.

As it happens I went to Inchcape today, and they knew no details of the recall - I asked.

And by the way, I put a deposit on a brand new latest model Evoque P 250...........
