Just noticed on the same topic on the F-Pace forums that a member has had the update on a 2.5T and reports "no noticeable difference"
Which is nice.

Hi,
I own a XE 20t I have had applied the H185 update 2 weeks ago and I encountered noticable differences in the car / driving experience.

1) I encountered a different engine behaviour during the cold start phase. The engine is changing the high rpm between 1500rpm and 1600rpm in a 2 sec interval until the warm-up phase is finished.
3) I recognized a slightly higher fuel consumption of about 0,5 and 0,8 ltr.
4) It seems to me, that the switching cycle of the automatic gear was changed, so the automatic gear switches earlier than in the past (in the Normal setting mode), so I am driving more at idle rpm than in the past. Or, if I misinterpreted this the turbo lag is noticable larger. I nearly never feel the turbo lag before the H185 software update was applied.
5) The engine sound became muffled, so the exhaust sound changed accordingly.
6) I think, that in the "Normal Mode" the car is noticeable more inharmonious. For smooth riding, the "Eco Mode" is the new choice, which was not the case before the H185 update.

It seems to be, that with petrol engines it is not only about the stop/start feature, which by the way I always switch off. So from this point, there is not difference in the car behavior.

best

Lucky you, that you can get the S/S to work long enough to be able to switch it off! I'd love for mine to work long enough for me to get used to the idea of it working, and maybe develop a driving style to suit it!.

Beware thread creep please!
Whilst the stop start appears to be included as part of this recall, let's not start going on about whether it works in the first place.
Thanks.

My car is a MY16 20d, took delivery in October 2015.

On the government website my car doesn't appear to be affected. I think it's wrong. If I manually select a 2015 XE it shows no recalls, however if I manually select a 2016 it shows it.

I still haven't had any notification from the dealer and Topix doesn't appear to show anything. How long does it take to sort this mess out?

There’s nothing wrong with your car and the update won’t make it go any better and could even make it feel worse... so stop worrying (unless you’re an eco warrior)

Thanks for the info. Have you noticed any difference when in Dynamic mode?

Sorry, but here I cannot make any statement. I am really use the Dynamic Mode very, very seldom, because it was not necessary in the past. The Normal Mode fit perfectly for my daily trips.

I have a MY18 2.0t (bought end May 2018) and it's going in for first service shortly. There are no alerts on it according to the dealer or on Topix.

So still not clear to me which models need the mod - perhaps they made this change already to late MY18 cars?

I wouldn't worry about it as my car is 2015 and nothing yet.
