Best MPG You've Had?
Re: Best MPG You've Had?
I'm averaging about 34mpg over last 18 months, that's using tank to tank.
On a long journey I often get 47-50.
This is with the 25t.

Re: Best MPG You've Had?
I’ve recently purchased an XE S and I’m currently on 19 MPG
although being a new owner I’ve done a fair amount of spirited driving. Will be interesting to see the comparison when the I get some longer journeys under my belt.

So you now have both?
About time for some photos of your new XE and the electric job.

I do a lot of short journeys and my average is about 36mpg. On a decent run the car will return high 40's - low 50's. My best ever was 65.1mpg over a fairly short 8 mile run, mainly on duel carriageway. All in all, i'm pretty pleased for a car with 240bhp on tap.

Yep finally! Took delivery of the I-pace a few weeks ago, the XE last weekend (after a 5 month wait). Both are at the detailers for a long weekend, picking them up tomorrow and he should hopefully have done some photos

Re: Best MPG You've Had?
42.2 mpg in my V6 over 45 miles. Although a more realistic figure is probably 17 when I want to annoy my entire village

Re: Best MPG You've Had?
Might be a silly question, but for those getting good MPG in the V6, are you guys using manual gear changes? Appreciate the better MPG will be cruising on a motorway, but around town I notice sometimes the auto sits in a lower gear than it seems to need.
Or am I just struggling to adjust to the auto?

Re: Best MPG You've Had?
Best I have had is an indicated 51.1mpg, that was a 137 mile run at average speed of 63mph (mostly motorway). Car is a 20T petrol with the Ford engine. Normal running about 36 to 45 mpg, dependant on distances.
Must say this is the best car I have ever owned regarding the fuel consumption and performance. My previous X Type diesel auto only managed about 49 mpg on a long run and about 37 in normal driving

Unfortunately she's had to go so I'm an ex XE owner.
Did have two X Types, a 2.5L then a 2.2L Auto with the dreaded DPF. No more DPF's for me.

Re: Best MPG You've Had?
yeah, I've got 43-ish on a motorway run, I get the better mpg's when in 'ECO' mode - I let the car choose the best optimum revs vs gear and it does a better job than me! The car can feel a bit sluggish in this mode but when I want a quicker getaway I just use the paddle and drop it down and I'm away - over the hills and far away.... la la...laTempest XE S wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2019 4:35 pmMight be a silly question, but for those getting good MPG in the V6, are you guys using manual gear changes?
