When it comes to selling the car Glass's Guide comes out and you get 4/5 of bu**er all anyway as the older cars are dumped off at first to a dealer and then to an auction. Looking after your car is fine but don't think it will make any difference to you when you trade it in. The only person to benefit will be the next garage selling it on.

Couldn't agree more Vespa.

My service is not due just yet but I know that my media system needs an update to enable Android Auto and OTA updates etc. I am hoping that if I use a Jaguar main dealer for a service then the media system will get the update. Not sure if independants can do this!
2017 Dark Sapphire 180D. Cold climate pack, reverse camera, Meridian sound system and 10" touch pro. Oh and a fully functioning S/S. :o

As long as your independent subscribes to Topix (which they should be if they're a Jaguar / Land Rover specialist) I don't see why they couldn't.

I've just asked this exact question of my "local" independent. I'll update with his response.
Currently a Caesium Blue 30T Portfolio :D
Previously a Corris grey 25D R-sport.

Hi, I haven't quite worked out how to manipulate these threads yet in terms of replies, I thought I sent one early this morn but I cant see it anywhere? Just wanted to thank all concerned for their replies to my service costs question. I have a diesel xe (think its a 180) Sapphire Blue. Quote I got was from the dealer I bought it from. its a 48 month service and as its bi-annual I'll bear it this time I think, but look at independents for the future. Lovely car, best ride I've had albeit the build quality is a bit sus in places and one or two running probs but I can live with those. Thanks again, with a bit of luck this will get posted this time!

If it has the two exhausts sticking out and visible it is a 180 if not and tucked away under the bumper it's a 163.

When I bought my XE two years ago I paid £500 for five services.

Those were good offers at that time. Mine came with two services as part of the package.
