Re: Remap
Hi, I have done the VAP pulley and tune to my F Type, taking it to 450hp. It does the same to the 340hp.
I've had it for nearly 12 months, a few of the guys on the US forum have had it for 4 years plus with no problems.
Pro's -
beautifully linear acceleration, I think it suits the transmission better than stock;
gruntier noise (hard for me to tell as I did the exhaust at the same time);
a bit more SC whine;
very free revving;
acceleration is insane, especially at higher speeds;
controllable, none of the "oops I've gone too hard" that I had with the 5 litre XKR;
makes you fall in love with the car all over again;
who needs a v8?
Con's -
not a good idea to track the car with a tune due to potential heat issues;
if you have a warranty, this might erode it;
must exercise restraint.
I've also driven a p400 in the F Type , the performance is noticeably better than the 380hp S and more than enough for a performance car, just not wild like the 450hp pulley and tune. Think wide grin vs maniacal laughter.

Re: Remap
If you did the pulley and tune you'd be annoying M3's, but there is also some merit in doing the tune first and then the pulley later if that ever got tired. 400hp is plenty in these cars.

Re: Remap
Considering this for mine as well. Had quote for £650 plus VAT for the remap only which would get it to 400bhp, waiting on a quote for the pulley and crank upgrade now to see if I can be tempted by the uplift.

Re: Remap
Would you let me know where and how much when you have yours done? I want mine doing but wary as to who to trust with it.Tempest XE S wrote: ↑Mon Aug 03, 2020 2:55 pmConsidering this for mine as well.
