What could Jaguar be testing here?

Post by AndyS » Thu Jul 30, 2020 9:07 pm

Spotted recently on the ring is an XE S without any camouflage and a couple of holes in the lower vent which are not present on production cars

if you skip to 6:08 mins to see

It definitely sounds like AJ126. They did have a mk2 XE recently too which would make more sense to develop upon

Either way I'm not holding my breath for a sporty jaguar saloon with more than 4 cylinders

I ran the reg (https://www.checkmyreg.com/ ) and it's a V6 alright and the typical growl from the exhaust is a bit of a giveaway.

I think the next development of the XE will be the mild hybrid and plugin hybrid which are going to need some major changes to the floorpan and body structure to accomodate the extra gubbins.

I wonder if it's the new ingenium straight six, that's just appeared in Range Rovers.

Looking at the XE pictured those extra air intakes could either be cold air feeds for the airboxes (although a bit low for that) or for the brakes. If you are hammering around the ring you will want to be keeping those brakes from overheating.
