I hope you get everything resolved to your satisfaction and that the car is beautifully repaired.

A few years ago a van man used the back of my Vauxhall Insignia to stop. His company begged me not to report it to my insurers and that they had done this before through their insurers. I did report it to my insurance company, but said the other party had accepted full responsibility and it didn’t require their involvement, but if this changed I would contact them again. They didn’t seem very impressed that I had been asked not to contact them and pointed out to me that it was my obligation to report any accident to them. The problem I found was having to do the work for their insurers, such as taking it to the dealers for a quote prior to repairs, waiting for approval and having to sort out a car. Lesson learnt. It did cause my to wonder though how many times they had done this before as they seemed more than familiar with the process.
