How could they turn alarm off so quick aswell. Plus start it off without keys?
OBD port I guess, not that it should be possible of course

Doesn't look like you're alone, apparently The Times food critic has had his I-Pace nicked in much the same way and this even had the Tracker system bypassed.

According to this report, he's not a very happy man!

Understandably Jaguar will keep quiet for as long as possible about this major embarrassment.
What we need is someone with some clout and Internet presence to pressurise Jaguar to address this, not some foul-mouthed self-publicicist.
Lurking here for information but planning on buying new XE R-Dynamic SE P250 some time next year.

JLR's security is a joke, and not a very good one. The tracking module needs to be embedded or linked to the engine ECU, and if the tracking module detects an issue, ECU disabled. How scrotes can get in and drive away in 20 seconds beggars belief.

They managed to get just the drivers door open, and yes it was definitely double locked so even more strange.

Here is a link to the footage...if it’s uploaded correctly

Any chance you could upload the footage again, really interesting thread. Would love to see it.
Sure - here you go.

Thanks for that, that's shocking, I'd be gutted if that happened to me.

There will always be some tech savvy person who will get past security. The Enigma machine comes to mind and that was a brilliant security messaging system, overcome by boffins at Bletchley Park.

I strongly suspect whichever scumbag cracked the Jag "security" first took a bit longer the first time... :o

I find it strange that a critical security component can simply be disconnected, and the rest of the system will shrug its shoulder's and go "Ah, well..."

Better to go down the Mr Bean route and take the steering wheel with you every time you park the car
