Well, at the risk of upsetting PhilB, I have decided to post a couple of pictures showing where I have stuck my umbrella.

There are a couple of nice little indents where the tie down straps attach just behind the rear seat. They are the exact width of the golf umbrella :D

I get the impression umbrellas are another thing where I'm in a minority of not many here :o

I absolutely loathe the things, probably because too many people have almost poked me in the eye with the spokes in the past

Anybody that wants one is welcome, but I'll keep well out of your way, if you don't mind! :P

Oh these are brilliant. They are spring loaded. You could take 4 or 5 eyes out in one go once Boris reduces the social distancing down from 2m

Not going to upset me at all.
You can stick your umbrella wherever you want, I really don't care.
:D
However making personal references can become tiresome sometimes.

My son got me a Jaguar Golf Umbrella for Christmas, from Jaguar. It is longer than the one being discussed because I tried the locations shown and it wouldn't fit. For about 10 minutes, I had it fitted to the underside of the boot lid but it had to be positioned just so or else one end or the other would hit the side of the boot trim when the boot closed. Even with that, the adhesive for the holders wasn't strong enough and the next morning I found it lying on the boot floor. However, the width of the boot just at the lip of the boot is exactly the right size and the umbrella doesn't move when driving so it is staying there.

Here's a picture of the 10 minutes it was located in the boot lid. (Not a good photograph, just squint. Glasses definitely required for those who use them.
